I am Anisha Goel and currently working as a professor at a university. Between my job and taking care of my family I found that I have no time for myself or time to enjoy anything at all! So this time around when it was vacation time I decided to visit Rajasthan! There were many places in Rajasthan where I could have spent my family vacation but my tight budget meant that I had to pick my destination wisely. After much research I decided to visit the Samode Bagh (Garden) in Rajasthan. As a nature lover I could not have picked a better place to visit this vacation time!

During my visit I stayed at the Samode Palace which has long since been renovated to become a classy hotel. The rooms at the Palace had all the materials to accommodate my kids and their tantrums making travelling with my family easier. The room also offered a great view of the Mughal styled garden. I greatly enjoyed just taking a slow walk in the Samode Bagh (Garden) Rajasthan. One can observe how the culture of the Rajasthani people is reflected in the garden.

There were many moments throughout my vacation where I found some time to myself. At times like this, I preferred reading a good vintage book in my room rather than spend my time watching the movies my kids were enjoying. These books taught me the culture and tradition of this beautiful city and its glorious past!

And every evening, I spent with my boisterous family at the hotel’s restaurant and enjoyed a delicious and sumptuous meal that does justice to the local cuisine. The food and the beauty of the gardens are reasons enough to go back to Rajasthan every year! So make sure you give it a try as well!
My name is Anisha Goel and I am a person who loves to travel but as a professor and a middle aged mother I don’t have much time or funds to travel far and wide. So this time I decided to go someplace closer to home and that place was Jaipur which is the capital city of Rajasthan. Travelling with kids can prove to be quite tiring especially when it’s to a desert state like Rajasthan. So I planned my family vacation during one of the most agreeable seasons which is the monsoon. Rajasthan during the monsoon season is something different entirely!

I booked a room at the Chokhi Dhani resort. The rooms at the resort all were well-equipped and came with a great view of the city and the surrounding Aravalli mountain range.

Watching the rain softly fall over the hills greatly appealed to the nature lover in me. There were many recreational activities inside the resort itself which kept my family occupied for most part of the trip! And as for me I spent my holiday curled up reading literature and a few odd vintage books.

Throughout my stay at the resort I learnt that the Rajasthani people are very hospitable and always ready to help you out. Another quality of Rajasthani that I immediately fell in love with was the local food and cuisine! Every day meant three different and equally delicious meals that will have me licking my fingers in delight. The foodie in me tried to take in all the flavours and remember them for another day but it just proved to be too impossible a task! I couldn’t take all of the flavours and tastes back home with me but I could note down the recipes for a few favourites. My trip to Rajasthan was eventful and full of many cherished memories and I will be sure to return here once again to weave some more golden memories!
My name is Anisha Goel and I have always loved to step out of my comfort zone and travel to new places. Every year I think of new ways to spend my family vacation and last year I had a stroke of genius! I booked us a suite in the Royal Rajasthan. This train travels from Delhi to Rajasthan during vacation time and makes travelling with family an exciting affair. The train did not charge a lot for kids and I even managed to save a little despite my tight budget. The interiors of the train were so exquisitely designed that we just had to sigh when we first saw it.

The train took us on an amazing journey across the country starting from New Delhi on the first day and weaving its way across many small villages and cities. From our seats we could see the passing fields and mountains. There was much to do inside the train itself but I preferred to just stay in my seat reading some literature books and furthering my knowledge about the cultural aspects of Rajasthan.

The journey took us to every major tourist destination in Rajasthan from Jodhpur to Udaipur and even the capital city of Jaipur. At every city we would halt for a while and during this time I managed to see all of the tourist attractions and do a bit of shopping as well. In Udaipur I found a local store that sold some valuable vintage books as well as recipe books that caught my eye right away!

As a foodie I greatly enjoyed the rare opportunity that the train travel from Delhi to Rajasthan presented. With every new destination came a chance to sample the local cuisine. There were so many traditional and authentic delicacies that I tried on the train and each were more delicious than the other! If you wish to have the same experience then all you have to do is book for a train trip to Rajasthan!
