After our rich experience in the Rani ka Talab, we decided to make Anandpur Sahib our next stoppage destination. Our holiday trip was going well and we were thoroughly enjoying it. We knew that the Anandpur Sahib Ambala Haryana was a holy place for the Sikhs. The city was filled with beautiful temples or gurudwaras as the Sikhs call them. The city was near Haryana and we had taken a car ride from Ambala to Anandpur Sahib. The city was located in the region of the lower spurs of the Himalayas and the scenario of the city was pretty amazing. The Sutlej River formed a shimmering and shiny blue border on the south-west which was barely 4-miles away. To the Sikhs, the city was of immense importance considering their religious point of view because it was closely linked with their rich religious tradition. We came to know that the holy city was founded by the ninth Sikh guru namely Guru Tegh Bahadur in the year 1665.
The place was extremely calm and quiet and the beautiful picturesque of this place impressed me a lot. We visited the Takt Sri Kesgarh Sahib which was one of the main attractions of the city. It was one of the 5 temporal authorities of Sikhism. The architecture of the temple was well planned and bound to impress anyone visiting the temple. When we visited Anandpur Sahib, it was a day of Hola Mohalla which was considered to be one of the most famous festivals of Anandpur Sahib Ambala Haryana every year. I came to know that every year nearly 100,000 devotees visited the city during that festival from different parts of the country.
Another famous place was the famous Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib that was built in the year 1675. It was the place where the head of the clan, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib was cremated. The location, the scenario and the holiness were undoubtedly the main reasons for attracting tourists from different parts of the globe every year. The experience of visiting such a holy place for the first time in my life was amazing. I felt extremely blessed for getting the opportunity to experience the beauty of the city.
